Store Clerk/Concession Attendant/Dockhand
Wax Marina – Nolin Lake, Kentucky
Reports to: General Manager

Job Description

 

Seasonal-The Store Clerk/Concessions Attendant will interact with customers to provide food service, complete sales and provide information on various boating related subjects. Store clerks and Attendants assist the General Manager and Dockhands in light duties related to the Marina. They do so while being friendly, positive and accommodating. They will also keep the area clean, safe and well maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cashier for the Marina store 

  • Administer rental contracts which include boat rentals, wave runner rental and boat slip rental.

  • Answers phone and assists customers with questions or direct calls accordingly.

  • Directs customers and delivery personnel to various parts of grounds or buildings as needed

  • Re-stocks and organizes store shelves and cases, bait tackle, live bait supplies, general merchandise as needed

  • Assists with inventory including recommending items to order

  • Communicates with other staff by radio

  • Prepares the kitchen and front desk organizing area for the next rental transaction or food customer.

  • Helps manage the food area and distribution.

  • Cleans and re-stocks the restrooms and light cleaning around the store as needed.

  • Regularly removes trash from trash cans around the Marina store as needed

  • Assists the General Manager with reconciling the cash drawer 

  • Helps maintain boat inventory and slip rental tracking to ensure accurate billing

  • Provides the highest level of customer and guest services

  • Reports disturbances in store area to superiors and maintains general vigilance.

  • Maintains a friendly, professional working relationship with co-workers, guests, slip tenants and vendors.

  • Complying with instructions or duties as may be reasonably assigned.

  • Demonstrates safe work habits at all times, including the proper care and use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, hazardous materials, and observes all established health and safety regulations.

  • Provides safe disposal of all waste material.

  • All other duties assigned by management.

Technical and Physical Requirements

  • Food handler card and CPR/First Aid Certified preferred

  • Proficiency in App enabled devices

  • Drivers License is required.

  • Knowledge of boating and local waters a plus

  • Customer service experience preferred

  • Retail experience a plus

Minimum Soft Skills Qualifications

  • Maintain a professional calm and courteous demeanor.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team context

  • Organizational skills are a must

  • Ability to prioritize and work unsupervised following through to completion of multiple ongoing tasks.

  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment

Schedule:

  • Seasonal Full Time – April to Mid October

  • 8 hour shift

  • Holidays

  • Monday to Friday

  • Overtime

  • Weekends
